Today I choose to embrace God's plan. To let go of my plans and embrace what God has planned for me.
If release is the verb behind trust, then embrace is the follow up action to release. We have to be willing to let go and then we have to seek and embrace the plan that God has for us. God's plans will happen and we can choose to embrace his plan or fight against it. Fighting against His plans at first may seem like the easiest way, but in the end we realize that it takes too much effort and drains us. Embracing God's plans is freeing and it puts us in a place where our gifts and relationship with God can be strengthened because He has us just where he wants us.
James 4:13-17 says, Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.' Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.' As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them." We don't know what tomorrow will bring, but we do know that God will never change, his word is everlasting and his love endures forever. We can find rest in the fact that God is consistent and an ever present help in trouble.
We must remember that God can see the big picture, he is like a blimp above a parade. The blimp can see the entire parade, from start to finish. And we are like the people sitting on the sidewalk, watching the parade. We can only see what has passed us and what is right in front of us. We have to trust that God has a plan that is perfect and we should be seeking his plan for our lives. Once we release our plans, then we must seek God's plans and finally embrace them. My challenge for today is, what is God asking you to do? What do you need to let go of so that you can embrace God's plans? Our God is good and there is no better way to walk through life then by his side, seeking his will and following his plan for our lives.
So today, I choose to embrace God's plans, because He is good!
